Teaching

I have previously led seminars in:

• Foundations of Computing. First year course - foundations in: algebra, statistics, proofs, and set theory.
• Functional and Concurrent Programming. Second year course - Erlang and the actor model, Haskell.
• Algorithms, Correctness and Efficiency. Second year course - data structures, sorting, graphs, big-O.
• Theory of Computing. Second year course - logic and proof, formal languages, computability.
• Programming Languages: Application and Design. Third year course - programming language design and its trade-offs.
• Functional Programming. Second year course - Haskell and Erlang, language semantics.

Other related activities

• I maintain a HOL4 tactic cheatsheet, adapted from Magnus Myreen’s cheatsheet. This can also be found on the HOL4 website.

• In the summer of 2017, I took a research placement at the Rainbow Research Group, University of Cambridge. Working with Rafał Mantiuk, I created Java-based coursework for a first-year graphics course, making use of automated assessment in a virtual learning environment (VLE).

• I have previously coached both beginner and experienced rowing crews regularly - at King’s College Boat Club, Cambridge and at University of Kent Rowing Club.

• In 2017, I was a reader at Carols from King’s, broadcast by BBC Two on Christmas Eve.
